Bedroom cleaning

How to Clean a Bedroom Perfectlythumbnail

Your bedroom should be a relaxing environment where you can rest after a long day. It is likely a place you drop your shoes, clothes, papers and anything else you have on you as you pass through the room. Once cleaning day comes around, you find yourself in a cluttered area with no idea where to start. To clean, you need to organize; otherwise, your room will not be clean and tidy when you finish.

Instructions

    • 1

Pick up loose items around the room that do not belong, such as shoes, paperwork or books. Remove them from the room and put them in their proper places. For example, place loose shoes in the closet on a shoe rack, rather than the hallway for later cleaning.

    • 2

Go around the room and collect any dirty laundry in a laundry basket. Remove the linens from the bed and add them to your laundry basket. Hang up items that are not dirty, such as jackets, in a closet. Start washing your clothes in between cleaning tasks in the bedroom so that your clothes are ready when you are done.

    • 3

Clean up any papers, receipts or other items that you can throw away.

    • 4

Dust the large furniture pieces first and then move to decorative pieces and electronics. Dust windowsills, but make sure to sweep the dust toward the floor and not toward areas that you have already cleaned.

    • 5

Spray glass cleaner on mirrors and windows and wipe them clean with a paper towel.

    • 6

Remove all cleaning items from the room and put them back in their place. Discard any used paper towels or trash in the garbage.

    • 7

Pick up nonfurniture items such as plants, laundry hampers or lamps from the floor and remove them from the room so you can vacuum. Vacuum from the furthest corner of the room and work your way toward the door. Make sure to vacuum under large furniture items and catch corners where dust balls can settle. Use a dry mop instead if you have hard flooring.

    • 8

Replace the nonfurniture items you removed in the room. Put a fresh set of linens on the bed and hang or fold any clothing that you washed.
